[OAGDU] Gavel Report - Second Request

Jackie,

I always help with OAGDU fundraising activities, though I did not buy a Honeybaked Ham in 2024. I did buy a $100 gift certificate for Easter, 2023. Of course I always do advocacy work regarding rideshare and guide dog work, knowing that OAGDU advocacy must relate to our division and otherwise, (not involving dogs) belongs in the chapter gavel. At least that's my understanding from previous Gavel training. I do contribute to PAC as an individual. I am president of the NFB of Springfield at least through October, 2024. Then I will be chapter secretary. I read the  church Bible study lessons during the church service sometimes, and play in the church bell choir. But I'm not sure those community activities belong in the OAGDU Gavel report. I am also a subscriber to NFB Newsling. If I have forgotten anything to help you with my personal Gavel activities, let me know. You might want to talk with Annette Lutz, chair of the awards committee, to clarify if I have confused you or been incorrect about what belongs in a division Gavel report.

Sending this out again because I literally only got one response. Please take 10 minutes and reflect on your past year and get back to me. This report is due by October 1st I believe. 

I’m starting to put together the gavel report for OAGDU. Trying to get a jump start on this. Please email me off list at schiemja at gmail.com if you have anything (even small) to add to the report. The questions are listed below:

Have you participated in any community programs?

Have you done any advocacy work?

Do you use social media for advocacy?

Have you participated with another division or chapter? Are you a leader in any chapter or division? Have you attended any other chapter or division programs?

Are you involved with the state affiliate in any way?

Have you participated in any of the national events?

Have you participated in any of the divisions fundraising activities?

Have you done anything to promote legislative initiatives?

All of these questions are for the past year starting October 1st, 2023.
