LuAnn
Paula
Marianne
Deanna

Debbie

Richard Payne (was a guest)
Minutes: Shane moved to approve the January minutes, as emailed. Debbie seconded, and the minutes were approved.
Treasurer’s Report:
The account balance as of 1/31 was $2,287.94.
Debbie moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, as read. Shane seconded and the motion passed.
Update:
Marianne reported that we have sold 59 guide dogs, and gave 14 out to the Guide Dog schools, Clovernook, and Cincinnati Association for the Blind.
Shipping is now $7, in addition to the cost of the dog.
The 3D printed guide dogs cost $20, giving Oagdu a $14 profit for each dog. The other $6 goes to Paul Denning for his work in producing them.
Marianne made a motion that we add mixes/crosses to the list of dogs we can make.
Due to the fact that Lab/Golden crosses can look very unique, they need to be specially made.
Paul can now take a 2D image and make into a 3D image. The person can send a picture of the dog to us. For these specific breeds, the cost will be $30.
Deanna seconded the motion, and it passed following a bit more discussion. Marianne mentioned that Oagdu will receive $19 for cross-bred dogs, versus the original $14 profit
We also plan on adding poodles soon.
School presentation Marianne is trying to get in touch with Fidelco. Deanna will reached out to out to schools for June and September.
Old Business from our previous meeting. Making a donation to See 3D, Caroline Karbowski’s company that has been printing 3D models for years. They have helped Paul and Marianne a lot in getting our fundraiser started. Debbie moved that we donate $300 to See 3D, Paula seconded, and the motion passed. Our donation will help enable See 3D to continue providing 3D models, free of charge, to blind and visually impaired people.
Richard is going to check to see if Oagdu can have our own booth at the National Convention. If not, we will be able to share a table in the Exhibit Hall with the NFB of Ohio.
Shane talked about Washington Seminar. Winter Storm Fern delayed travel for most people, including Shane.
Kinshuk Tella made it there, however all other attendees from Ohio went virtually due to the weather.
Everyone did a great job and the representatives were pretty receptive of our initiatives.
Richard discussed the dates for the National Convention; July 3-8 in Austin, Texas.
Diane asked about the possibility of reaching out to the Guide Dog Schools to see if OAGDU could sell our 3D printed guide dogs in their gift shops. Another possibility was suggested, promoting the fundraiser via an interest story on local news stations. These ideas were tabled for now, as we do not want to overwhelm Paul. However, we strongly encourage our members to promote the fundraiser by word of mouth.
The next meeting will be on March 8th, hopefully featuring a speaker from Fidelco.
Deanna moved to adjourn, Shane seconded and the meeting was adjourned
at 7:54.
