OAGDU Meeting Minutes:

The Sunday, June 14 OAGDU meeting took place following our Guide Dog School presentation from Guiding Eyes, with Melissa Carney. The following people were on the call at the beginning of the presentation:

The business portion of the meeting began at 7:57 PM

Minutes: Shane moved to approve the meeting minutes as emailed. Jackie seconded and the minutes were approved. 

Treasurer’s Report: Marianne reported the following balances. 
April
Balance $2,176.14
$117 income from dues and dog sales
$30.58 expenses for shipping
30 cent in Zelle fees
May:
Balance $2,262.06 
$77 income for dues and dog sales
$12  expenses for shipping

Debbie moved to approve the Treasurer’s Report, as read. Shane seconded and the report was accepted. 

Fundraising report: Deanna mentioned that the Honey Baked Ham fundraiser ended on April 30th.  She did not have the check during the meeting, but would have the total raised at our next meeting. 

Marianne sent the Membership List to Jessica Snyder for National Convention. 

New business:

Marianne confirmed that we will have our own booth at the National Convention. She and Paul will be selling 3D guide dogs and Buckeyes at the table.  For people not familiar with the candy, they can give samples of 1/4 piece cut up. 
A bag costs about $14; and there are 40 Buckeyes in a bag. She suggested that we increase the price from 50 cents to 75 cents each or 3 for $2. We can lower the price if there are a lot leftover. 
We can sell a whole bag for $30. 

We had some discussion on how many bags of Buckeyes she should buy, and decided on 20 bags total. Marianne will purchase 10, and OAGDU will pay for the other 10 bags. It would cost around $140 for those ten bags.
Debbie moved that we allocate  $150 towards the purchase of the Buckeyes, Shane seconded and the motion passed. 

Paul and Marianne will bring pre-made 3D dogs to Convention with NFB bowls and tags to sell. 
Paul, Marianne, Shane, and a few friends will be working the OAGDU table in the Exhibit Hall. 

We discussed sending money to Nagdu for the Guide Dog relief area, but it is not needed as someone has already funded it for this year’s convention. 
We discussed giving money to the NFB and door prizes. Richard said the easiest way is to send our donation directly to the NFBO Treasurer, Chris Sabine and they can add it to the additional donation from the Ohio Affiliate. 

Shane motioned that we give $50 towards each of the 4 National funds; Jackie seconded and the motion passed. 

We discussed donating two certificates for a customized 3D printed guide dog to be given away at the Nagdu meetings. 
Jackie motioned that we do this and  
Shane seconded.  

We also agreed to give Raul Gallegos a 3D printed guide dog presented at the Nagdu meeting. Marianne or Shane can present it to him at the Seminar on Friday.  

We welcomed back Lori Dent, as our newest member. She recently received a new dog from the Seeing Eye, a black lab named Ari. 

Luann reported that the Leadership Conference went well.

Deanna moved to adjourn, Debbie seconded and meeting finished at 8:49 PM. The next meeting will be on Sunday, July 12 at 7 PM on Marianne’s Zoom link.

The OAGDU Board held a brief call prior to Convention to discuss some additional business.

OAGDU will allocate $30 to purchase cardstock, so that we can  print business cards to hand out at  National. 

Marianne is going to set up a square account for OAGDU, so that we can take credit card payments.

Marianne will be taking $200 in cash for change: in tens, fives, singles, and quarters. We ask that if someone purchases under $10 that they pay in cash.
