<DIV><FONT size=2>Hi Deanna,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>I'm so sorry the assistant manager in the thrift store
was giving you problems about having your service animal in the store with you.
Firstly, if I were you I would file a complaint with the
corperation or the headquarters of the company because that
assistant manager was in the wrong for telling you that your dog couldn't be in
the store. When clearly you are in your right to have your service dog
accompany you while in the thrift store. After all your dog isn't a pet but a
service dog.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Secondly, the police officer in my opinion didn't do his
job and should of come into the store and got involved because you were
clearly in your right to have your service dog accompany you while in the store.
Yes by all means you should file a complaint against that
police officer for not doing his job . File the complaint with a superviser or a
sargent or captain that are higher up in the police department. The police
should know the laws on service animals and how to protect the handlers and
their service dogs. </FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Education is definetly needed hear and we need to
eddddddddddddddddddducate the police if their willing to listen and
learn and what we face as guide dog handlers when we are
denied access because law enforcement are not aware of the
laws that protect handlers and their service animals from being
denied access into public places.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2>Also the management of this thrift store also needs to be
educated ,. I hate this sort of thing is still happening . Take
care.</FONT></DIV>
