<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">Rick and I dropped Gipp off at the vets around 9 this morning for the second time in a week to have surgery again to restitch his eye due to him popping his stitches open. We
didn’t pick Gipp up from the vet until a little after 4 this afternoon.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">When we got to the vet’s office we went in and Marie the groomer/vet assistant told us to go down to the second door which is the one exam room. When Marie came into the exam
room Gipp wanted to play with Marie. She’s his buddy and she normally plays with him. She said she couldn’t play with Gipp. Then Marie took Gipp into the back room and Rick and I left.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">This afternoon when we went to pick Gipp up Lisa the vet assistant told us the surgery went very well. She then told me that it wasn’t my fault that Gipp popped his stitches.
She said she was standing at the front desk after Gipp’s surgery she heard him moving around in his crate. She went back to check on him and found out that he had somehow managed to position himself so he was able to push his cone back on his neck. She said
he was about an inch away from rubbing the side of his face on his crate. She called Marie back to tell her what she saw and then they both called the doc in to take a look. The doc’s first comment was am I going to have to put the stitches back in a third
time? Lisa told him that she already checked and the stitches were fine.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">The first time I brought him home he had a 25 inch cone on him. So this time they put on him the largest cone they had which was a 30 inch cone. They said hopefully this larger
cone will help.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">They gave me a sedative, called Acepromazine 25 mg, and told me to give one to Gipp every 6 to 12 hours as needed. If he doesn’t need it don’t give it to him. This should help
keep him from trying to rub his eye. Most people refer to this medicine as Aces. They said they now understand the problems I had with him.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:black">Gipp has to wear the cone of shame all the time 24/7 and I can’t take it off and to keep doing what I’ve been doing. He has to wear the cone for another 2 weeks and I have an
appointment for Gipp to go back to the vet on Tuesday July 5th at 3:00 in the afternoon to have the stitches taken out.
