Never Give Up
There are ups and downs in this journey of life and unfortunately, some days are going to be better than others. As Christians, we know that God never promised that all our days would be bright and sunny, but He does promise that He will be with us through every storm. So on those days when you are discouraged and feeling like just “throwing in the towel,” and giving up–lean on Jesus! Go to God’s Word for comfort and assurance. Think of Paul, who suffered unimaginable heartache and pain, yet God sustained him through a shipwreck, beatings, prison, and horrible persecution and through it all–Paul did not give up! He said in, 2 Timothy 1:12, “ I am not ashamed of it for I know the One in whom I trust, and I am sure that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until the day of His return.” It was Paul’s deep and unshakeable love for His Lord and Savior that gave him the courage to keep on going! And God is still willing and able to do that for each of us today. No matter what dark valley we are in, never give up–lean on Jesus claiming Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Text: Joshua 1:9, Psalm 37:24, Lamentations 3:21-26, Psalm 42:5
Bible Texts:
Joshua 1:9 NKJV - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Psalm 37:24 NKJV - Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.
Lamentations 3:21-26 NKJV - This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD.
Psalm 42:5 NKJV - Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.
