Ministering with Love
God has called all Christians to be ministers of the gospel. The Bible says in Mark 16:15, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.” But before you can minister effectively to others, you need to ask God to examine your own heart to be sure your motives are pure. Are you wanting to witness so that others will think you are righteous and holy? Does any part of you like to be seen as an authority on the scriptures or as someone who is closer to God than others? Pray for God to purge you from all self-centeredness and pride and to give you a humble spirit. Don’t be a hypocrite. Ask yourself, ”Am I walking the walk or just talking the talk?” Telling others what to do and not doing it yourself is to put it quite simply–just being fake. Be a person of integrity and set the right example. Your most powerful witness is how others see you, what you do, what you say, where you go, etc. That’s why it’s critically important before witnessing to others, that your own heart is surrendered to God. Repent of any bad habits, sins, or relationships that may be polluting your life. Pray as David did in Psalm 51:10: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.” Live a life pleasing to Him. Remember to pray for Holy Spirit wisdom, discernment, and clarity as you deliver God’s messages of truth–always with compassion and humility. If you truly want to be used to minister to the utmost, be like Jesus–motivated by love. Text: 1 Timothy 4:12, Hebrews 6:10, Galatians 5:13

Bible Texts:
1 Timothy 4:12 NKJV - Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

Hebrews 6:10 NKJV - For God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love which you have shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Galatians 5:13 NKJV - For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
