Moving Forward

When life has dealt you a deadly blow and it feels like you just have no more strength to hold on . . . cling to Jesus. He is your reason for living. Don’t spend time wallowing in self-pity or reliving every painful memory, because it won’t help you move forward. Whether your heartache was caused by someone else or was the result of your own mistakes, don’t allow yourself to give up. Choose not to be a prisoner of your past as it was just a lesson, not a life sentence! You may know that in your head and even believe it, but as the Russian playwright Anton Chekhov said, “Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice.” Go to God’s Word and seek wisdom, strength, and guidance. You can’t say God is silent when your Bible is closed! When you are standing still and are so traumatized that you literally don’t know what to do next, remember that Jesus is your Best Friend and He is right there beside you to lift you up and show you which way to go! If you’ve made a mistake, ask God to forgive you and then let it go and move forward with Holy Spirit boldness. The Bible says in Micah 7:19, “You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea.” And You can trust God’s Word; He won’t go deep sea diving and will never throw your mistakes in your face! And if you are feeling the pain of injustice because someone else has hurt you, pray for God to give you forgiveness in your heart for your enemies. Only then will you have that sweet peace that God alone can give. Perhaps it was the loss of a loved one, a financial crisis, or a natural disaster–whatever it is that has you so discouraged that you can’t bear the pain, give it to Jesus! He can turn the heaviest pain into joy. Remember, when you have nothing left but God, you discover that God is enough to keep moving forward. Text: Jeremiah 29:11, 2 Corinthians 4:18, Philippians 3:13-14, Romans 8:1

Bible Texts:
Jeremiah 29:11 NKJV - For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV - while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV - Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:18 NKJV - For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
