Sweet Sleep

Do you struggle with sleeplessness? If you don’t, most likely you know someone who does. The National Sleep Foundation recently reported sleep deprivation interferes with 40 percent of the adults’ daily activities. A surprisingly 62 percent of the respondents shared they felt drowsy while driving and 27 percent admitted they dozed off while behind the wheel of their car in the past year.

When you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down, your sleep will be sweet.

As a child of God, you have a promise of sweet sleep, but it’s up to you in whether or not you accept and experience that gift.

Sleep doesn’t come easy when your mind is full of worry or concern.

David slept peacefully while his own son rebelled against him and gathered an army to kill him. How could he do that? He gave his fears, worries and concerns to God in prayer, believing God heard every word and would answer his prayer. His trust was not in what he could do as a king or father but in God working out the details for his own good (Psalm 3:5).

You can sleep well when you have full confidence that God is at work on your behalf.

If you have difficulty sleeping, pour your heart out to God and thank Him for taking care of everything that concerns you. Trust that He hears you and will answer your prayer.
