Soul Lift 

Mallory’s hope began to quickly escape her. No matter what she tried to do to resolve the difficult situation, she saw no way out. Like an insect caught in a spider’s web, she felt the heavy, paralyzing fear and overwhelming depression holding on to her tightly.  

Then, suddenly she realized it wasn’t hope in herself she needed, but her hope in Christ that would lift her from the depths of her situation. So she refocused her mind on Him for guidance and the help she knew only He could provide.

In our verse today you see that God’s unfailing love is the only place to put your trust. He alone lifts up your soul as you rely on Him. He knows the way you should go.  

Have you ever felt caught in deepening depression, unable to pull yourself out? Here are five things you can do to lift your soul: 

1.      Go to God, your soul lifter. 

2.     With honesty, tell Him just how you feel. 

3.     Reflect on all He’s done for you in the past. 

4.     Open your heart to Him in prayer. 

5.     Commit to do all He asks of you. 

Today’s One Thing 

If you find yourself caught in the web of despair today, take action and do the five things from Psalm 143 listed above. If you aren’t in a hard place, pray for someone who is struggling.
