Choose Your Attitude
Attitude is a choice–you can either choose to allow God to shine through you in every situation, or you can choose to have a sour attitude when things don’t go your way. No one can “make” you angry, mad or even sarcastic–because it is “you” who has the power over your emotions. But once you let the actions of someone else or a dismal situation dictate your mood or behavior–you are no longer in control, and that’s a dangerous place to be. Wallowing in self pity and bitterness, harboring negative thoughts, complaining and criticizing–is not God’s way. The Bible says in Philippians 2:5, “Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus.” And in Philippians 4:11 we’re told, “I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.” Don’t dwell on the ugly things in life–choose the attitude of Christ. It’s not humanly possible to always be content and happy but with God all things are possible. It is Christ Jesus who gives you the strength to be like Him each day. Every morning before heading out the door– spend time in prayer and ask God to give you the power to be like Him–choose a Christ-like attitude and don’t forget to claim, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Text: Philippians 2:5-8, Philippians 4:8-12, Numbers 11:1

Bible Texts:
Philippians 2:5-8 NKJV - Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 4:8-12 NKJV - Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things. The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

Numbers 11:1 NKJV - Now when the people complained, it displeased the LORD; for the LORD heard it, and His anger was aroused. So the fire of the LORD burned among them, and consumed some in the outskirts of the camp.
