They assume they already know what you are going to say before you say it and try to just get to the point. Some zone out all together, letting their mind wander off to other things–while you are still talking. It’s not a very satisfying conversation when someone isn’t really listening to you. Their mind is already made up about what you are going to say and you can see it on their face that they haven’t heard a word you’ve said. People who don’t listen to all the facts –make poor decisions–simply because they think they know it all. Neither do they have close friendships because having a friend who doesn’t care enough to listen, as you share your life–isn’t a very loving friend! Jesus is a loving Friend and He is your Best Friend who will always listen to you! But He also wants you to listen to Him! The Bible says in Luke 8:18, “Pay attention to how you hear to those who listen to My teaching more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.” When you read God’s Word–really listen as He speaks to you! Don’t skim the pages thinking you know everything–listen . . . really listen–and you will hear God’s voice! Text: James 1:19, Jeremiah 29:12, James 1:22, Proverbs 16:20
