Witnessing Without Words
Someone once said that your greatest witness is from your life, not your lips. Oh how true that is. In your zeal for sharing God’s truth, it’s easy to get caught up in wanting others to share your beliefs. Although your motives may be pure, unless people’s hearts are open to the Holy Spirit’s pleading, it will fall on deaf ears. You may not only be wasting your time, but could easily be turning people off and pushing them further away. Jesus set a wonderful example of how we should share our faith. He witnessed everywhere He went, whether in the synagogue, walking through the cities, or amongst the throngs of people He met along the way. One thing that really stands out is that He met their physical needs before He ever addressed their spiritual needs. He lovingly healed the sick and the brokenhearted and ministered to those who were lonely and outcasts. It didn’t matter how wealthy or poor, Jesus gave His love to everyone. He didn’t preach at them pointing out all the things they were doing wrong–but showed how much He loved them through His actions. It was His amazing love that drew people to Him–not His judgment. The Bible says in 1 Peter 3:1, “If we can’t win them by our words, let us win them by our ways.” To be an effective witness, you need to be in tune with the Holy Spirit and pray for divine guidance for “who” to witness to and “when.” God’s timing is perfect and only He knows hearts. If you are leaning on your own intuition you’ll mess it up every time! Pray for an anointing of the Holy Spirit and strive each day to follow Christ’s example. Remember, we are not called to be like other Christians, we are called to be like Christ–so emulate Him! Witness without words by allowing others to see Jesus in you and the closer you are to God–the more others will want what you have–a beautiful relationship with your Best Friend, Jesus. Text: James 1:26, James 3:10-12, Proverbs 10:19, Proverbs 11:9

Bible Texts:
James 1:26 NKJV - If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one's religion is useless.

James 3:10-12 NKJV - Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

Proverbs 10:19 NKJV - In the multitude of words sin is not lacking, But he who restrains his lips is wise.

Proverbs 11:9 NKJV - The hypocrite with his mouth destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge the righteous will be delivered.

In the Valley
When things are tough and you’re down in the valley, with the fog so thick it clouds your vision– it’s easy to feel lost, lose faith, and begin blaming God for your misery. But whatever heartache you feel–it is NEVER God’s fault! He loves you with an abiding, unconditional love and He wants you to have life, and have it more abundantly. But sometimes, He allows you to be in the valley, where you can truly experience the glory of God and His divine intervention in your life. It is in the valley that you receive His comfort and come to understand that He is a God full of love, grace, and mercy, with the power to heal and restore. Instead of being bitter against God, thank Him for your trials! The Bible says in Philippians 4:11, “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” In other words, no matter what you are experiencing, whether heartache, loneliness, or the fullness of His joy–be content! The only thing you need to concern yourself with–is your relationship with God! It is when you are in the valley that you are leaning on God the most! Pray that God will keep you close to Him and ever faithful–and claim this text found in Psalm 23:4, “Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for you are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Text: Joshua 1:9, John 10:10, Psalm 25:4, Psalm 37:24, John 14:1-3

Bible Texts:
Joshua 1:9 NKJV - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."

John 10:10 NKJV - "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly."

Psalm 25:4 NKJV - Show me Your ways, O LORD; Teach me Your paths.

Psalm 37:24 NKJV - Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

John 14:1-3 NKJV - "Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. "In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also."
