Part-Time Christians
Being a Christian is not something that we turn off and on like a faucet deciding to play the “God card” whenever it’s convenient and do what we want the rest of the time. Nor is it “Christian” to be a kind, loving example of Christ when we are out in public – but then be grumpy and rude to our own friends and families. Some leave church and the minute they get behind the wheel, forget all about being a “godly” person–driving like a maniac, cutting people off in traffic, angry that the person in front is going so slow. They quickly forget the spiritual message they just listened to in God’s house. Some believe themselves to be living like Christ, but have no clue how character revealing it is just to listen how they answer the phone. Being in a hurry is no excuse to be rude, impatient or irritated that their phone call interrupted their day! It is definitely not living the life of a committed Christian when we respond harshly, raise our voices, or take an authoritative tone when someone doesn’t share our opinion. God doesn’t want us to be “part-time Christians.” He wants us to shine for Him – all the time! Text: Romans 12:10, Ephesians 6:7-8, 1 Peter 3:15

Bible Texts:
Romans 12:10 NKJV - Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;

Ephesians 6:7-8 NKJV - with goodwill doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatever good anyone does, he will receive the same from the Lord, whether he is a slave or free.

1 Peter 3:15 NKJV - But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear;
