When You Don’t Feel Like Praying
There may be times when you’re discouraged and feel like there is no use praying because God seems a million miles away. Perhaps the heartache you are going through seems so great that you think no one can help. But it is never a good idea to avoid talking to God. In fact, He is the BEST one to tell your troubles to because He’s the only one who actually has the power and authority to help! There’s nothing too great or too small that you can’t take to the Lord in prayer and He is literally interested in every aspect of your life! If your faith is weak, pray and ask God to help you trust Him more. Open God’s Word and align your will with His will. Then when you pray–believe that God will answer you according to what is best for you–for God always hears and answers your prayers. The Bible says in Psalm 34:17, “The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.” Whenever you’re discouraged and you don’t feel like praying–God will give you strength–just claim His promise in Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, . . . I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Text: Psalm 147:3, Isaiah 51:11, Joshua 1:9, Lamentations 3:21-26
Bible Texts:
Psalm 147:3 NKJV - He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
Isaiah 51:11 NKJV - So the ransomed of the LORD shall return, And come to Zion with singing, With everlasting joy on their heads. They shall obtain joy and gladness; Sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
Joshua 1:9 NKJV - "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
Lamentations 3:21-26 NKJV - This I recall to my mind, Therefore I have hope. Through the LORD's mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. "The LORD is my portion," says my soul, "Therefore I hope in Him!" The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the soul who seeks Him. It is good that one should hope and wait quietly For the salvation of the LORD.
