Learning to Let Go
In order to live a surrendered life with Christ–you must release your grip on the sinful pleasures that separate you and your Savior. If your hands are clasped tightly around Satan–you must be willing to let go in order to land safely in the arms of Jesus! God doesn’t expect you to be perfect in order for Him to save you. Actually, it’s quite the opposite! He is waiting for you to surrender all your sinful baggage that has weighed you down and He will give you His sweet forgiveness and cover you with His robe of righteousness. A feeling of joy will wash over you and you’ll experience freedom such as you have never known. As your new walk with God begins–the Holy Spirit will impress upon your conscience your transgressions and will give you the strength and power to let go of each cherished sin. Now that doesn’t mean that God gives you a list of everything that needs fixing in your life and expects you to be transformed in an instant. Not at all–instead He is kind, loving and patient and will equip you to do all that is required of you–in His perfect timing. Slowly God will open your eyes and allow you to see yourself through His eyes–and when you do, it is such a humbling experience. It’s not so much the shock of your own sins that will disturb you the most–but rather the pride in your heart. The shame from this reality resonates to the deepest corners of your heart and you can’t help but love God even more–when you realize He sees the “real you,” and yet loves you anyway! So much so, that he suffered and died just to pay the price for your sins! What an awesome God–all you need to do is . . . let go–and follow Him! Text: Romans 8:37, Acts 20:24, 2 Corinthians 6:4, Galatians 2:20

2 Corinthians 6:4 NKJV - But in all things we commend ourselves as ministers of God: in much patience, in tribulations, in needs, in distresses,

Galatians 2:20 NKJV - "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
