This Too Shall Pass
There are days no matter how hard you try, it’s a struggle to keep motivated and stay positive. Perhaps your day started out right with personal devotions and prayer but then . . . the washer broke and water flooded the floor, or you had a flat tire and spent two hours on the side of the road, or even worse, you sent a confidential email to the wrong person! Everyone has a bad day some time or another, but how you react to it is what matters. The important thing is to just give it all to Jesus! Don’t get angry - let God handle it! Don’t let life’s challenges distract you from carrying out the ministry God has called you to do. There are certain to be many roadblocks in your life’s journey - just remember, you are not defined by the trials but by how you react to them. The Bible tells us in Romans 8:28, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to His purpose.” When your dreams are shattered, your health is gone, your friendships betrayed, you’ve been hurt by loved ones, you’re in a financial crisis, or you’re just having a bad day, don’t panic - not even our troubles last forever. As President Abraham Lincoln said, “This too shall pass.” God will give you the strength, courage, and wisdom you need to face every crisis, so don’t lose faith. Take a deep breath, exhale slowly, and reach out for God’s outstretched hand. Then, hold on tight . . . and keep holding on! TEXT: Psalm 18:16-19, Romans 5:3-4, Psalm 9:9, 2 Corinthians 1:4
Bible Texts:
Psalm 18:16-19 NKJV - He sent from above, He took me; He drew me out of many waters. He delivered me from my strong enemy, From those who hated me, For they were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my calamity, But the LORD was my support. He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me.
Romans 5:3-4 NKJV - And not only [that], but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.
Psalm 9:9 NKJV - The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, A refuge in times of trouble.
2 Corinthians 1:4 NKJV - who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
