Your Worst Enemy
It’s no wonder there are so many people suffering with low self-esteem. Parents have unknowingly contributed just by the way they respond to their children when a mistake is made. Remarks spoken with disgust, such as “Why did you do that?” “What were you thinking?” “Could you be more clumsy?” can haunt the child well into their adult years. They can’t run from those inner thoughts and are haunted by the old tapes they’ve been conditioned to. They end up punishing themselves when they make a mistake: “I’m so stupid! Why did I eat that last donut when I’m on a diet.” “I’m such a clutz. If I would have watched where I was going, I wouldn’t have broken my ankle!” “Why am I so stupid? I should have looked at the label before buying the wrong kind of creamer! What a bloomin’ idiot!” It’s no surprise that people are their own worst enemies; they have no confidence because they have been speaking self-hate to their hearts their entire lives. They become so used to being the punching bag that they’re not even aware of why they dislike themselves so much. But Jesus wants to set us free from the bondage of self-loathing. He gave His life to save you and He has the power to give you freedom and the peace you seek. Cry out to God for help, and He will answer! He has the power to assign tens of thousands of angels to be by your side in an instant! So, the next time you are tempted to berate yourself, remember that you are a child of the King of the Universe and you are not an idiot! You are not stupid! You are not an imbecile! You are the precious child of a King which makes you royalty, so treat yourself with the respect that you deserve. TEXT: Psalm 139:13-15, Luke 12:6-7, 1 John 3:1, Ephesians 2:10

Bible Texts:
Psalm 139:13-15 NKJV - For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother's womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully [and] wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, And [that] my soul knows very well. My frame was not hidden from You, When I was made in secret, [And] skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Luke 12:6-7 NKJV - "Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. "But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

1 John 3:1 NKJV - Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.

Ephesians 2:10 NKJV - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
