Me-First Mentality
There’s something sorely missing in our world today and that is the inability to put others first. We’ve become a selfish society where we are so focused on what we want, that stepping on someone else to get there, just doesn’t seem to matter. But God is very clear on how He views selfishness. The Bible says in James 3:16, “For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.” And in Philippians 2:3 we’re told, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.” Being “self-centered,” never brings happiness.Real joy comes from Jesus and becoming more like Him. When Christ was here on earth, He was always thinking of others and went out of His way to be kind, and helpful. Without ever complaining, He spent countless hours healing the sick, giving words of encouragement, doing acts of kindness, and all the while enduring hunger, lack of sleep and the constant pushing and shoving of the crowds. When He was beaten, bruised, bleeding and dying on a cross–He wasn’t thinking of himself. Instead– He thought of His mother, His friends, the thief next to Him on a cross and each one of us that we might live eternally with Him! So, toss out the “Me First Mentality” by implementing a “Christ First Mentality” and strive to become more like Him! Text: Psalm 119:36, Proverbs 18:1, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6
Bible Texts:
Psalm 119:36 NKJV - "Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness."

Luke 6:38 NKJV - "Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."
2 Corinthians 9:6 NKJV - "But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."
