Ocean of Insecurity
Many people struggle with feelings of insecurity. They see all the beautiful, talented people around them, but can never quite put themselves on that same level. They’re unable to love themselves as God does or view themselves through God’s eyes. When someone gives them a compliment, they quickly dismiss it with a self-deprecating remark. The fastest way to drown in an ocean of insecurity is to put your confidence in what others think of you or in things that will not last. Even if you work hard and obtain the success that you thought was so important to you, there is no joy or happiness because it is never enough. You’ll always want more, something bigger or better. If you depend on self achievements, approval from others, or your performance at work, your confidence levels will fluctuate like the weather. You could be the top performer at your job, getting so much praise that you are confident you have job security, but all that changes when a new boss comes into the picture and decides they don’t like you. Perhaps they are jealous of your talent, and the next thing you know, you’re out of a job with your confidence level taking a nosedive. There are many reasons for insecurity, but one main culprit is depending on others to believe in you or putting your confidence in “things” that are fleeting. The Bible says in 1 Timothy 6:17, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.” Put your security in the only One who can reward you with confidence and that is Jesus Christ! Text: Hebrews 10:35-36, 2 Corinthians 12:9, 2 Timothy 1:7, Hebrews 13:6

Bible Texts:
Hebrews 10:35-36 NKJV - Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise:

2 Corinthians 12:9 NKJV - And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness." Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV - For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Hebrews 13:6 NKJV - So we may boldly say: "The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
