We know this passage , because in my choir we sing the song, Hold The Light, after this passage is read. Very profound statement!

A Terrible Deadly Plan
All Christian denominations from generation to generation have preached that “Jesus is coming soon!” Because this message has been told for so many years, some people have stopped believing that Christ’s return could happen in their lifetimes. There are some that will even respond with, “Oh, yeah . . . that’s what my grandparents and their parents before them thought. They are long gone and Jesus still isn’t here!” Sadly, the apathy has reached an all-time high. People go to church and just go through the motions, halfheartedly singing or not even paying attention to the sermon. Some have stopped going to church altogether, choosing to take part in worldly pleasures. They mistakenly think they have all the time in the world to dance with the devil, and then, right before they die, they’ll give their hearts to Jesus. But that’s a terrible, deadly plan, because it doesn’t work that way. Remember the five bridesmaids that ran out of oil waiting for the Bridegroom to come? They didn’t buy enough oil, so when He arrived late, their lamps were empty. Read the story in Matthew 25:1-12 where we’re told that when the bridesmaids came back from getting more oil, the door was shut - it was too late. Matthew 25:13 says, “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.” God tells us in Luke 21:7-27 that we will know by the signs that Jesus’ coming is near. Read this chapter carefully because every one of the signs mentioned are happening today! Heed Christ’s message in Luke 21:28: “And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.” Make no mistake, Jesus is coming soon - the question is: are you ready? Text: 1 Peter 4:7, Revelation 3:11, 1 John 2:28, Revelation 22:12

Bible Texts:
1 Peter 4:7 NKJV - But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers.

Revelation 3:11 NKJV - "Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown."

1 John 2:28 NKJV - And now, little children, abide in Him, that when He appears, we may have confidence and not be ashamed before Him at His coming.

Revelation 22:12 NKJV - "And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work."
