Conditional Unconditional Love
Unconditional love is giving love without any expectations for anything in return–no strings attached! It is giving love regardless if someone is deserving of it or even if they want it. Loving unconditionally does not say, “I’ll love you IF you do all the things I want you to do or think the way I want you to think.” God showed us the real meaning of unconditional love when He sent His only Son to this earth to die so that we might live. Matthew 5:45 tells us, “That you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.” Love just doesn’t get any deeper or better than that! God shows no distinctions–He just loves! No matter what you’ve done, He will always love you. The Bible says in Romans 5:8, “But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God doesn’t say He will love you once you are perfect. God loves the sinner but hates the sin, and we should too. You will never find a better example of unconditional love than God’s love. But some people are confused about the meaning of His unconditional love. They think they can do anything they want and still go to heaven. But that’s simply not true! According to God’s Holy Word, God does put conditions on your entrance into heaven. Matthew 7:21-23 tells us, “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’ ” Make no mistake, God’s love is unconditional, but His requirements for heaven are conditional upon our obedience to Him. Unless we are doing “the will of our Father in heaven,” He will say He never knew us. People are often confused by John 3:16 which says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” To put it more clearly, God loved the world unconditionally by sending His Son, Jesus, but the condition for escaping condemnation and obtaining eternal life is “believing in Jesus.” Oh how marvelous is God’s conditional unconditional love! Text: Acts 16:30-31, John 5:24, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:9-10

Bible Texts:
Acts 16:30-31 NKJV - And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."

John 5:24 NKJV - "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.

Romans 10:9-10 NKJV - that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
