A lot happens this week on the Bible Bus. After 40 years of wandering in the desert, it’s time for Israel to reach the Promised Land. Will they make it this time?

Numbers 22:6—24:14

Have you ever heard an animal talk? In Numbers 22 and 24, God used reluctant Balaam to speak His words as a prophet. When he tried to resist, God caused his donkey to rebuke him. In the end, Balaam could not curse the nation of Israel as he intended, but he could only bless them. Discover how God used a worldly man to deliver some of the first major prophecies regarding Israel as a nation. (Airs February 23, 2022)

Numbers 27:1—28:2

The children of Israel have traveled a long way with Moses as their meek, steady leader. Sadly, Moses prepares for death as his people get ready to enter the Promised Land. In preparation for his death, Moses is instructed by God to appoint one of his servants as Israel’s new leader—Joshua. Dr. McGee encourages us that God uses ordinary people—those who obey Him in the mundane—to do great things for Him. (Airs February 25, 2022)

In this book of old laws and prophecies, we can look forward to Jesus as our merciful, loving, Great High Priest.

Even though Jesus isn’t directly mentioned in the book of Numbers, all symbolisms, laws, and prophecies point to Him as the atonement for our sins and fulfillment of God’s promises.
