I awoke this morning with mixed emotions. While I am excited about tomorrow
being 40 years since I accepted the call into the ministry, I am saddened
that today is our last day as pastor at Seven Pines Pentecostal Church.
Leisa and I feel God leading us to help our son Brad at Souls Harbor Church
in London Kentucky. I will be sharing more about that move in the coming
days. But, today I want our attention to focus on the wonderful church and
congregation at SPPC.
SPPC has always held a special place in our hearts because that's where
Leisa and I met in 1982. We were blessed to serve as Youth Pastor/Assistant
Pastor under Rev. Elmer Green from 1989 to 1996. Then in May 2020 it was
truly an honor to be named the pastor at SPPC.
Over the past 2 years Leisa and I have been so blessed with such a loving
and supportive congregation and we have grown to love them dearly. They have
been so good to us and have given us an opportunity to be able to continue
our ministry during the COVID pandemic.
And while we are saddened to see our era at SPPC come to an end, we are so
excited to know the future for those precious people is looking bright.
During our time as pastor, Quinton East has been our youth pastor. Leisa and
I have seen him grow so much. It is with great pleasure this morning to be
able to turn the pastorship over to Quinton and his wife Rebecca.
Although we won't be with you guys at SPPC physically from this day forward,
we want you to know you will always be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.
Thanks Seven Pines Pentecostal Church for being such a loving and caring
group of people.
