Affiliate Presidents:

Within the next week you will be receiving the Imagination Fund grant memo and application to apply for an Imagination Fund grant. Grants that support and advance our Braille literacy initiatives to counter the Braille literacy crisis in America will be given special attention. Here are three suggestions that you can use for grant applications.

1. Send a child or some children from your affiliate to a training center or a buddy program that teaches Braille.

2. Create a parent/child seminar about the importance of Braille literacy with some instruction in Braille.

3. Participate in the Braille enrichment summer program.

I hope that you will consider these ideas when submitting your grant proposals.

Sincerely,

Dr. Fredric K. Schroeder, First Vice President

NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND
