While riding to work this morning I notice that one of the riders were blind.
When talking to the driver and the other riders I struck up a conversation about organizations for the blind.
I asked the young lady if she was legally blind she said yes.
After finding this out my sell of nfb begin with asking if she was involved with any organizations of the blind.
My point comes now she said with great regret that she attended a meeting while in another state and the people in better language than she used were just complaining every time she went.
She told me that she wanted no part in that.
I said I could understand and did not blame her.
Then I told her that I was the local chapter president of nfb.
She was not very uplifted with that fact but she still talked to me.
I said all groups and other organizations have there problems from civic to government.
I assured her that I could give her a different view on nfb and would love to continue the conversation.
She asked for my number and gave me her contact information.
I plan to follow up and invite her to the next event that we have.
We must remember that every one we
meet may not think like we do and there are some that may be turned off by things they herd are encountered.
but we can turn that around.
I live 5 minutes from my job in a car.
