Subject: Buckeye Update for January 6th 2009
It must be time for another update because once again the weather outside is terrible. I have three items I want to highlight for the update this time.
January 17th Board Meeting:
Our winter board meeting will be held Saturday, January 17th from 10-2 at the Columbus Airport Mariott hotel. We will meet in the St. Charles room and have lunch from 12-1 on the hotel atrium. We have the room till 4pm which should give the parents time to have their meeting as well. I will be sending out a proposed agenda and committee list for your input very shortly. I know that Mary Pool and Debbie Baker will not be joining us for the meeting but I'm assuming that the rest of the board will be present. I need to know who else will be attending and will want to have one of the box lunches that the hotel will be providing for us, so I need a number by at least next Tuesday the 13th and the lunches will cost us about 14 dollars per person so any contributions toward that expense will be appreciated. We are having our meeting here because the hotel is interested in talking with us about having future conventions with them and thus are giving us the room and providing coffee, tea, and water in the morning for us. The hotel is located at 1375 N Cassady very near the airport and the Easton shopping center, the phone number is 614-475-7551. Eric or I can help you with directions if you need them.
Membership Seminar:
Richard Payne and Susan Day will be traveling to Baltimore to represent us at a Seminar concerning membership, chapter building, and recruitment issues, they will make a report at our January 17th meeting. This meeting will be held the weekend of January 9th.
Washington Seminar:
I think we are just about set for the Washington Seminar in terms of our travel plans and other issues. This will be one of the largest groups we have taken in some time but I think it will be an effective one. Some of us will be arriving on February the 7th and others on February the 8th, and all of us will be returning on the evening of February the 10th.
Finally thanks to all of you that planned and participated in the January 4th activities it sounds as if they were a rousing success and I hope that some of you will submit appropriate articles for the next newsletter. Concerning the Newsletter, please give us feedback especially on the CD version this time, if you have a defective one I have a few extra copies but in general since this is our first time doing this your feedback is very important to us.
