Happy Veterans Day!
My father Sergeant Richard Hartzell Sloan Jr. served with the 92 ND.
battalion in Italy, the same battalion as Film Producer and Actor, Spike
Lee's father served. My father received accommodations and a purple heart.
My brother Richard H. Sloan III. served in Vietnam. He was a Transmission
Communications Specialist and worked in the mountains.Fortunately he did not
see much action. After serving 18 months, he wasss sent home on a hardship
discharge because he had to attend our father's funeral. My father's home
going to heaven was April 3, 1968, the same date that Dr. Rev. Martin Luther
King was killed.

HiJ. W.
My grandfather and uncle were in the military.
My dad was also in for a short time and that is way I was born on a Naval
Base.
I volunteer for Navy Marine Corps Mars because we provide Emergency
Communications and help families keep intouch. We also send messages to
veterans in facilities.
Iagree with you. Let's remember and pray for our soldiers and their
families.
However you feel about war we still need to support our soldiers and their
families and pray for those who were killed or wounded.
Let's also pray for the family of the Major who killed these people.
God Bless!
