Hi everyone,
Fred knows a lot about the ashtrays. Read his message below. It sounds
like there may still be some for sale!
And yes, that is me he is referring to in the salutation!

Dear Sweet Cheryl: Guess you hit the right place and using my
longevity to inquire about something Philomatheon Society produced back
in the 50's I shou;d surely remember that item all too well. The answer
is YES and probably if we can accommodate anybody else with them you can
send J W the Philomatheon Society. I can find out what their e mail
address is or give your the address and Phone number now. That is a real
item we thought would go over big at the time. ordering molds and a
Pottery maker etc. Its a wonder they held on to them this long. The
phone no. is: 330-453-9157 and I am quite positive they would be over
whelmed to be of help to your Lady friend.
Fred P S We have a lot of Crafts waiting to be picked up at
any time made in Craft Class. And if they want to come visit when we
put on a Steak Dinner which will be held first Friday evening I am
almost positive, it is first Friday in May. 4 to 7pm Their
address is:
2701 West Tuscarawas St. across from the Aultman Hospital which is
across the Street and you cannot miss that as you will see a huge
Parking area for their Patients. that use the Aultman Professional Bldg.
2600 W. Tuscarawas.
Ask me just about any thing and if I don't remember I surely will
find out.

Hi Fred,
I just received a message on Ohio Talk from JW trying to help a lady
find out more about an ashtray commissioned by the Philamatheon Society
in Canton during the 1940s or 50s. It had both the Braille and print
alphabets on it. Probably there were two versions, one with a guide dog
and another with a cane on it.
Do you remember these ash trays? I'm not sure what the lady wants to
learn. Her name is Maxine Booth. It sounds like she would be grateful
for any reminiscences you might have or for facts like the price back
then. Does the Philamatheon Society have records of such things?
Cheryl
