Hmm - and some people think that young people who aspire to be musicians aren't going to do much with their lives. At least they aren't worth supporting.

Subject: Documentary with blind musician Henry Butler, and students, on CET Arts channel
Hello,
My name is Tim Watson and I am the co-producer of a documentary called "The Music's Gonna Get You Through," which is airing on CET Arts this Saturday, with later repeats. The film follows blind piano player Henry Butler as he conducts a jazz music camp for several visually-impaired teen-age musicians. Then, we follow up with the students four years later to find out about their progress, and get their reflections on the camp.
Here is the broadcast schedule for CET Arts, channel 48.3:
Oct. 9, 9 pm; Oct. 10, 9 am; Oct. 10, 2 pm; Oct. 10, 6 pm; Oct. 11, 11am; Oct. 11, 4 pm; Oct. 11, 11 pm; and Oct. 12, 3 pm
So far the documentary has been well received, and I'm hoping you can help spread the word about the broadcasts in Ohio (unfortunately we have zero dollars for marketing, so we are relying on grassroots support and word of mouth!). The film is quite moving, as viewers get to know Henry, his students, their music, and their victories!
Here are a few links which give more info on the film:
http://www.musicsgonna.com/
http://itvs.org/films/musics-gonna-get-you-through
http://www.facebook.com/TheMusicsGonnaGetYouThrough
The film will be broadcast with an alternate audio track, allowing visually-impaired viewers to choose to hear audio which also contains a description of the visuals in the film.
Finally, because individual PBS stations decide whether and when to broadcast the documentary, we always urge viewers to contact their PBS station programmer and ask for the film; and, to urge their friends and family in other states to do the same.
Thanks, and my best,
Tim Watson
