The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio, a 501(c) 3 consumer
organization comprised of blind and sighted people committed to changing
what it means to be blind, will meet at the Wyndham Garden Dayton South
Hotel (formerly the Holiday Inn Dayton Mall), November 4-6, 2011. The
convention will include an exhibit and technology tradeshow featuring
services and training opportunities available to the members, general
sessions, motivational speakers, a variety of workshops, recognition of two
national scholarship winners (from Ohio) and two state scholarship winners,
a banquet and a memorial service among other activities. Montgomery County
Commission President, Debbie Lieberman will address the group of
approximately 100 on Saturday, November 5th.

The National Federation of the Blind of Ohio has fourteen local chapters,
one for at-large members, and special divisions for diabetics, merchants,
students, seniors, parents of blind children and those interested in
Braille. Although blindness is still too often a tragedy to those who face

"We are extremely proud to welcome the National Federation of the Blind of
Ohio to Dayton for their annual convention. We applaud the organization and
its members for the outstanding work they have done in 'changing what it
means to be blind.' There are many inspirational stories and we celebrate
the group's camaraderie and victories toward fulfilling their goal of
'seeing that blind people become first-class citizens of the United States,
enjoying their rights and fulfilling their responsibilities.'

development.
