Yay! It's a nice sunny day, at least right now!

Meeting With Connors and Miller

On Wednesday, October 19th, I had a productive meeting with BSVI Director
Dan Connors and ORSC Executive Director Kevin Miller in my office at Ohio
University. You have already seen one result of that meeting, and I think
that Dan will be prepared to cover even more issues in his presentation at
our convention. I am pleased to tell you that Executive Miller does seem
committed to keeping the lines of effective communication open and to
involving organizations like ours in the ongoing training of their
counselors. Ask me more about this at the convention, and/or hopefully Dan
will elaborate on it as well. We will be having quarterly meetings like
these, and we will rotate them between Athens and Columbus. There may be
times when I will request that some of you join me for these meetings, so
please be ready.

It's Convention Time

I think we are pretty much set for the convention, and if the
Preregistration traffic is any indication, it may be one of our best
attended in some time. I think that all the Chapter and Division dues,
lists, and reports are in or will be in soon, and I want to thank you for
your positive responses. The Miami Valley Chapter, the Springfield Chapter,
and the Merchants are hard at work in preparation to welcome us, and the
energy level seems quite high. I think that we will have a record number of
new attendees this year, so let's take full advantage of this opportunity to
impart knowledge, to learn, and to positively impact the lives of these
potential new members.

Finally, I want to encourage you to visit and to be a part of the new
endeavor called the "Hobby Lobby" and to support the Radio Play performance
both with your presence and your funds.
