This sounds like the kind of training that I have been praying someone in the affiliate would get. You go, Girl!

Subject: [Ohio-talk] Awesome news!
Hi everyone,
I have some awesome news I'd like to share. I found this out on Monday and was too excited and forgot to post it. Sorry for my memory lapse.
Some of you know, but most of you don't know about the Cisco Academy for the Visually Impaired (CAVI). They specialize in classes such as CCNA Discovery, IT Essentials, Linux, etc. I signed up to take a course which they don't offer. They are trying this course out this semester; this course is called Audio Editing Fundamentals. I thought it a very good way for me to gain knowledge, but also employability should that happen after I leave LCB and come back to Ohio. Don't worry, I'll be around until October. Don't cry yet!
I filled out the application form, sent it in, and was interviewed Monday morning. Later that morning I received an email stating... wait for it...
wait for it--I got in!!! :)
The cost of the course is very reasonable for what you get. It's $150. For their longer courses they do offer scholarships should you be paying out of pocket or BSVI can't pay.
I can't tell you all how excited I am! Classes start in Mid September and I seriously can't wait! They're a few things I still need to get, such as a 1 year license for Goldwave ($20) and a USB microphone (a decent one at that).
With that last part said, any audio geeks who are on this list, if you guys know of any good ones, you can email me privately or call me. Number is
(937) 935-2610.
I spoke with Kerry Hoath last night and he answered lots of my questions regarding payment and other things. He's just an awesome person to talk to anyways! :)
While I'm at LCB I'll still keep in touch, I promise! :)
Hope you all are having a great Wednesday! :) Macy McClain
