Subject: URGENT ALERT: Transportation Amendment Commercializes Rest Areas

J.W. Per our previous conversation. Please ask any NFB members in Congressman LaTourette's district to call (202) 225-3121 to ask the Congressman to not offer an amendment on the floor of the House to HR 7 to allow commercialization of the interstate rest areas. Also, other NFB members can use this same number to call their Congressmen and ask them to vote against such an amendment in the event it is offered by Congressman LaTourette. Since this may come to the floor for a vote as early as Tuesday P.M. calls need to be made Tuesday morning.

This amendment would basically put Ohio blind vendors who operate vending at the interstate rest areas out of business. Hundreds of blind vendors across the country would be impacted. We cannot let this amendment pass.

If you have questions or need further information, please email me at this address or call me at 423-468-4969.

Thanks!
