Oh my gosh!
I remember when they were 372 exchange.
I would never have even thought of all of this but you know anything that helps you remember braille is good.
After all, Braille is really like a language. It is so interesting and even though some think it never changes it does.
I know some people are distressed about Bana Adoption of the UEB but if we look at the history of braille it has not stayed the same since Louis Braille.
There have been many bumps along the road.
I'm not saying I am for UEB but like it or not it's going to be here soon.
I wonder how much the learning curve will be.
People are still going to have to know how to read the current code because I am sure we are not going to card all of the materials presently on hand.
Think of all of the words you can come up with for your most important numbers.
Happy Brailling!

The system requires real creativity because it depends on using Braille abbreviations when available and convenient. For example, my home phone number, 774-8077, in his system became G, good hog, go. This requires knowing the when g stands alone it means "go." GD is the abbreviation for "good." And you can make the word "hog" if you change the 0 to an o. You can see the kind of contortions that the system requires. Be in some circles I am still sometimes called Good Hog. All this is to provide a NAPUB moment for those who know a little Braille. Eric's new phone number is ice fife. Now you nonBraille readers can work on figuring that out, but the rest of us will remember his number easily.
