The Legislative Directors of each NFB affiliate are invited to attend a
Congressional Action Planning seminar. During this two-day seminar,
participants will learn about the history of the blindness movement, the
best practices for developing relationships with members of Congress, and
the 2013 Legislative Agenda of Blind Americans. We will also be unveiling a
new tool that will assist us in documenting and coordinating our legislative
activities.
Rather than flying into D.C. for the Great Gathering-In, we are asking that
the Legislative Directors of each affiliate schedule their Washington
Seminar travel so that they arrive at the NFB Jernigan Institute on
Saturday, February 2, 2013. All participants must arrive before 5:00 p.m.
EST. The seminar will last until 1:00 p.m. EST on Monday, February 4, 2013.
Lodging, meals, and transportation from the NFBJI to the Holiday Inn
Washington-Capitol will be provided by our national office.
Mark your calendars! Our Washington Seminar will be February 4-7, 2013,
with the Great Gathering-In taking place on Monday evening. Additional
