Cheryl,

I too enjoyed the meeting and felt like it was a success.

I appreciate and thoroughly like your suggestion. It would be a great idea to have cards to provide to potential members, as well as the community for outreach endeavors.

Thanks!

Suzanne

Subject: [Ohio-talk] idea for strengthening membership in Cleveland area

There was a good telephone conference last night with NFB members from the Cleveland And Cuyahoga Chapters in attendance, and I want to thank Eric for setting it up and leading the discussion.

We spoke of several ways that we might strengthen the NFB in Greater Cleveland and get rid of the impression that the Cleveland and Cuyahoga Chapters are at odds with each other. One suggestion I made is that, when we meet new people and potential members, we always tell them that there are two Chapters in the Cleveland area, one meeting on Friday night and the other on Saturday morning, and invite them to come to either or both of the meetings.

To take this a step further, I was thinking that it might be good for our Chapters to print a business card saying something like:

National Federation of the Blind

Cleveland Chapter (Phone number)

Friday night meetings at Cleveland Sight Center

Cuyahoga County Chapter (Phone number)

Saturday morning meetings at Tick Tock Tavern

This would be a concrete statement of our being joined together in one cause. It would also be a practical way for people to be able to contact us.

Just wanted to put the idea out there. Any feedback is appreciated!

Cheryl
