Since we have been talking about Heritage for the Blind, here is a message
that shows the kind of corner-cutting this bunch does, even when they
actually have some service. Mindy's message is the only thing you should
bother with.

Hi, I've been so bad at checking my email lately that I missed this whole
thread.

I do agree with Mike and Charlie Brown, though.

I was curious about them several years ago and requested some prayerbooks. I
received some little pamphlets that had snippets of the prayers they were
supposed to have included. Each paragraph containing a new prayer started
with the Hebrew title, transliterated. That is to say English letters were
written rather than the representation of the word, using the braille Hebrew
alphabet. Our prayerbooks are usually at least one full volume of 100 pages,
and very often take two full volumes. The Hebrew is written on one side of
the book while the English translation is written on the facing page. I only
go into this long explanation to point out the rediculousness of the little
pamphlets Heritage sent me.

No, they're just operating under the line, but they're not illegal. I just
wouldn't give them a car.

Best,

Mindy Jacobsen

members hear their commercials about donating your car and they say to be a
star and donate your car. I did read something on the Internet where some
guy supposedly was using their name in a fraudulent way along with the names
of up to 20 other charities to obtain money fraudulently and stuff. I think
this was in 2010 or something where I believe someone in New York did an
investigation into this.

thoughts as well. I'm curious about them and what people know about them,
not that I'm going to donate a car or anything, just a bunch of us are tired
of their commercials on the radio and stuff.
