Greetings,
Just wanted to let anyone who is a bit computer phobic know that signing the
petition is extremely easy. You just fill in your email address, first and
last name, and click to sign. Be sure, however, to complete the
confirmation step. The site send you an email to confirm that you are you
and really meant to sign. You need to activate the link in that email, go
back to the site, which lets the great cyber ruler know that you did indeed
mean to add your support. And I do indeed hope you will!

Peace,
Deborah

petition and helpend the book famine for the blind

Hi, Folks,

Here's that URL to sign the petition in case you had trouble finding
it in the embedded messages.

https://nfb.org/civicrm/petition/sign?sid=2
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/petition/sign?sid=2&reset=1> &reset=1

You may see a 'navigation cancelled' message on the webpage after you
sign: it appears to me to be a CGI programming error on the page,
but doesn't seem to be a real problem. That is, it looks to me
like your signature will still be collected. Just respond to the email
confirmation message you'll get after you sign.

There is no handy dandy way to click to share the message with
others: but it will work to simply forward the link above to
anyone you like.

HTH.

Blind and print-disabled people in the United States and across the world
need your help to relieve the worldwide book famine that prevents us from
receiving an education, attaining employment, and fully participating in
society. The World Intellectual Property Organization is considering a
treaty that would make more books available to blind and print-disabled
people all over the world by promoting an exception to copyright law
allowing books to be produced in special formats like Braille and to be
shared across international borders. This treaty is called the Treaty for
the Blind or the VIP Treaty. Unfortunately, publishers, big media, and other
rights holders like GE and Caterpillar, some of whom have nothing to do with
the publishing of books at all, are complicating the negotiations in an
attempt to water down or kill the treaty. You can help by sending a strong
message that you support a treaty that helps the blind and print disabled
get access to more books. Please sign the petition at

https://nfb.org/civicrm/petition/sign?sid=2
<https://nfb.org/civicrm/petition/sign?sid=2&reset=1> &reset=1

Please share the petition link with your family, friends, and others who you
feel will support this effort.

Thank you for your support.
