[Ohio-talk] FYI

Hello Everyone,

I have to be a proud Mom here. My daughter Misty, who some of you met at
BELL, plays trumpet with the OSSB band. They are doing their "Script"
Braille Ohio during half time of this Saturday's game while the OSU band
does their traditional Script Ohio. It is very exciting for the students,
staff, and us alumni.

This band has gotten quite a bit of publicity over the past few years. It
has been their philosophy ever since their appearance in the 2010 Rose
Parade to help raise awareness of the abilities of blind people, that they
can do the same and have the same accomplishments as sighted kids. Over the
years, the school has received numerous request from others, including
inquiries from blind and sighted alike wondering about how blind students
can participate in marching bands in their regular schools. Now with their
doing their signature "Script" Braille Ohio in again the national spotlight,
they are accomplishing their goal once more. And what a wonderful way to
highlight braille awareness!

Once again, I am so proud of them.

Go Bucks!

And Go Marching Panthers!

Annette Lutz
