I do agree with you that something needs to be done. After working with a nonprofit, I see a lot of things that need to be changed. In my opinion, more of us, those of us who are visually impaired and blind, need to take the helm and stop allowing those who are not well informed and educated about blindness speak on our behalf. I have noticed that those who are considered to be so-called, normal, just don't get it. The statistics on employment is not going to change until we make enough noise with the rehabilitation centers and the nonprofit agencies about how they need to represent us. I will not going to details, but I know personally that we need to stand up and make some noise!
I hope the email makes all of us aroused in our hearts to help those behind us.
