National Federation of the Blind of Ohio Buckeye Update

June 27, 2014
Over this last week I have moved to a smaller apartment. It is a to bedroom instead of a three. The last time I moved it was during a convention so, obviously I had to miss the convention. But not this time.
By this time on Monday, I will be well on the way to Orlando. Some of you will arrive before I do.

The Ohio caucus will be on the 4th of July at 8:15 AM., in salon 15. All salons are on the second floor of the hotel. It will last for an hour or less. So put the information in your mind, calendar, or where ever you need to put it so that you will be there on time.

I urge you to buy a banquet ticket if you have not already done so. This is Dr. Maurer's final time to deliver a speech as President of the National Federation of the Blind. Remember that the ticket you purchase will guarantee that you receive a banquet meal. If you want a seat in the banquet room, you must be sure your ticket gets exchanged for one that gives you a table number. We try to get a group of tables that are close together. In order to do this we must collect a ticket from everyone who wishes to sit at an Ohio table.
Please give your ticket to Aleeha Dudley this year. Be sure that your name is on the ticket in print or Braille. Put your name on in print if you must, but do what you can to get it Brailled. There are a lot of people who can and will write your name in Braille. Bribe someone if you have to. If you need a vegetarian or kosher meal, please be sure Aleeha knows that when you give her your ticket. Also if you want to be sure that you are at a table with someone who's last name you do not share be sure she knows that as well.
If Aleeha does not have your ticket by the end of our caucus you will be too late. It will then be your responsibility to exchange your ticket.

We will have plain and peanut m&m's to sell again this year. It is helpful to us if you are able to pay for the candy you pick up when you get it. You will get fifty bags of m&m's this year. If at all possible please have $50 in cash or a check made out to the NFB of Ohio for $50. If you cannot pay in advance don't let this stop you from selling.

Aleeha Dudley and Abby Bolling will be in charge of the candy sales this year. Please don't make them find you to give you candy. Call them and arrange to get your candy.

Aleeha's number is (937) 773-0525.

Abby's number is (513) 258-5043.

We will also have tickets for our $500 drawing. Remember these tickets are 1 for $5 or three for $10. Please see me to get these tickets.

There is a lot to do and to sell during the convention. This is going to be a good one. I look forward to seeing you there.
