Hello Deborah,
I agree with you.
I do not consider use of Audio Equipment to listen to material reading. I am sure David 
Patterson, the former Governor of Ny, who wouldn't use a cane or read Braille.
He even used his lack of ability to read the reason he failed the Bar Exam.
His Alternative Techniques were definitely not effective.
Unfortunately there are too many people who do not want their children to learn braille because it says to the world that their child 
is blind. There are also too many teachers who do not want to teach braille. 
It is great that the NFB is offering a Refresher Course for TVI'S.
I challenge anyone to go head to head with those of us who are good braille readers. Bring on the print and the braille 
and let's see how well we braille readers will shine. Colleen Roth, President
