[Ohio-talk] A Malley's Christmas

Dear Readers,

It’s 6 A.M. and your radio alarm clock blasts to life.  “Wake up, wake up, wake up!  It’s snowing outside, says the weather report.”  You mutter to yourself, “Oh, please!  I just want to sleep a little longer.”  Still, you need to get your day started.  You get ready to leave your house and, when  you step outside, the sidewalks are blanketed with a carpet of soft, powdery snow.  You make your way through the slow-moving traffic, and you arrive to school or work.  Then, you remember that you left your bar of Malley’s chocolate on the kitchen table.  

While you’re taking care of the day’s tasks, something keeps calling to you.  “Oh, if only I had put that bar of Malley’s Chocolate in my school bag or briefcase!”  

Fast forward a few hours.  It’s 5 P.M. quittin time!  You leave your office or school and snow is still falling.  That doesn’t matter anymore, because you know what awaits you when you get home: a lusciously creamy, crunchy masterpiece of confectionary goodness made from the finest ingredients from Malley’s Chocolates.  

You turn on the TV while you savor the flavor and the holiday movies have already started.  Yes, it’s the Sound of Music.  In fact, Julie Andrews (Maria) is singing “My Favorite Things as she sits on her bed with the kids around her and a thunderstorm rages outside.   

 Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.  (Hi Colleen)
 Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens 
Brown paper packages tied up with string.
 These are a few of my favorite things 

This melody stays with you through the night, but the words change to: 

Buckeyes and snowmen and bells made of chocolate.
Ssquare mints and patties that please my sweet palate.  
Snow wafers and pretzels all covered with love, 
That’s what I want from dear Santa above.

Roayals and nut barks of various kinds.
Billy Bobs and nut clusters dancing in time,,
Wouldn’t you like to have sweets shipped to you?  
That is exactly what Malley’s will do!

Let the snow fall, let the wind blow. 
You need not feel bad. 
Just buy lushous Malleys for family and friends, 
And they will all feel so glad!
