*Organization:   The United States Association of Blind Athletes (USABA)*

*Title:   Public Relations and Events Coordinator*

*Job Description*: The major responsibilities of the Public Relations and
Events Coordinator include developing and implementing an annual marketing
strategy in support of the mission which concentrates on promoting the U.S.
Association of Blind Athletes and our members.

*Some of the major duties and responsibilities include:*

   1. Integrate and extend marketing objectives and brand strategy into the
   public relations discipline to maximize exposure for USABA athletes and
   members.
   2. Ensure favorable, consistent coverage for organization’s marketing
   initiatives.
   3. Establish/maintain consistent relationships with media.
   4. Represent the organization and make formal presentations to various
   constituents as needed.
   5. Develop story ideas and write articles for various print
   publications.
   6. Write press releases regarding USABA events and athletes to be
   distributed to local and national media which create media attention to
   leverage corporate sponsors.
   7. Develop athlete biographies.
   8. Assist in the planning, implementation and evaluation of special
   events and various sport programs.
   9. Continuous updating of USABA photograph library.
   10. Maintain regular information on website, database of media contacts
   and sports event calendars.
   11. Promote USABA on various social media outlets.
   12. Be proficient in using MS Office Suite and computer applications.
   13. Manage USABA database systems and other administrative functions as
   assigned.

*Educational Qualifications: *English, Journalism, Public Relations or
related degree is preferred.

*Requirements:* The successful candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree
and at least one year of proven public relations or related field.
Candidate should be self-motivated and must have excellent writing,
computer and interpersonal skills and judgment for dealing with USABA
members, staff, media and the public. Reasonable travel and evening/weekend
work will be part of the responsibilities.
