[Ohio-talk] NFB OHIO scholarship deadline fast approaching

Even if you have applied for the NFB national scholarship, please know that
you are eligible to apply for a scholarship from our state affiliate as
well.  

The deadline is just one month away, so please spread the word to every
blind student you know!Here's what you need to know:

2016 SCHOLARSHIPS FOR BLIND STUDENTS, DEADLINE APPROACHING 

Just one month remaining to apply for one of three generous scholarships
being awarded by the National Federation of the Blind of Ohio.  The
application process has been streamlined this year to enable students to
complete the entire process online, if desired. The application form,
recommendation letters, and transcripts can now all be submitted
electronically.  

Three scholarships will be awarded to legally blind students who will be
attending college in the 2016-2017 school year.  
They are: 
--The $1500 Jennica Ferguson Scholarship, 
--The $1000 Robert Eschbach Scholarship, 
--And the $1000 Barbara E. Fohl Scholarship.  

Academic performance, community service, and financial need will all be
taken into consideration.  
Applicants need not be members of the National Federation of the Blind.  

The deadline for applications is May 15, 2016.  Decisions will be made and
Students notified by July 15, 2016.  

In addition to the scholarship award, each winner will receive a trip and
all expenses paid for attendance at the NFB Ohio convention, November 10-13,
at the DoubleTree, 1100 Quarry Lane, in Independence, Ohio.  Scholarships
will be presented at the convention banquet, November 12.  Attendance at
this educational and fun gathering of blind people is mandatory.
