Ohio plans to have a method for setting up an ABLE account this summer. An
ABLE account is available to people who developed a disability before age
26 and allows us and family members and friends to put money into this
account to purchase disability specific needs or education. You can put up
to $14,000 per year into this account and the money does not count against
anyone who has income from SSI. I think it would be good to have a
presentation on this at the convention this fall. There may be people on
this list and other NFB members who are interested in this type of account.
