Good sunny Friday the 13th to all!Make this your lucky day by registering to join the NFB of Ohio in the first annual Charity Day 5 k to be held on June 26th in Columbus. At our chapter meeting recently, the question was asked about accessibility of the website. At the very beginning it was an issue, but early on, one of our members worked one on one with Brian, the contact person, to ensure that the site was indeed accessible. Perhaps if any of you made an attempt to register at the very beginning, you were unable and gave up. I would like to see our members support this fundraising event and invite family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, church friends, anyone and everyone you know, to be a part of this day. I have said it before and will repeat it again, what a wonderful way to showcase the ABILITY of the Blind of Ohio. Be an active participant and get the faces of the NFB in the media on June 26th! Long white canes strolling down the Olentangy Trail, what a photo opportunity for the news. I keep hearing it said that we want the NFB to be a household name, be a recognized brand, okay, let's do it! This is such a positive message that we could send out by joining other charitable organizations/non-profit groups in this event. Making important connections, getting visibility, displaying independence, showing determination and team motivation, here is the opportunity for it all. It is not about speed, or running the race , unless you want it to be. Walk it with us, be proud of your independence and mobility. Let's do it together. There will be a party at the end for all participants and who likes a party?Who all are going to test the accessibility of the site? Shoes on, cane ready to go? Excited to walk it with you, Carol
