Hello Owen,
Please contact me off list about your question/request about News Line. I
must be having a senior moment, because I can't remember what you asked me.
I just remember that you inquired. I apologize, my laptop was on the fritz
during convention and when you get old, the natural computer seems to
require frequent repairs, LOL.
My contact information is in my salutation below. Please contact me at your
earliest convenience.

Subject: [Ohio-talk] My Little Gift!
Everyone,
Today I learned that Medical Mutual partners with Children and Family
Services by an email that I received in my inbox this morning. The request
was to consider adopting a child for the holidays. So, I responded and just
a few minutes later, I got a reply. I lost my breath for a moment, and then
my heart melted. I was reminded that someone needed me after reading that
reflective email. .
My angel was delivered with a powerful message. Her name is Tanisha and she
is one years old. She doesn't care that I am blind or where I live. She
won't judge me or think that I am flawed in any way. She just wants to be
happy, safe and loved. Tanisha at the age of 1 years old, probably sees
the world as it is. Whomever gives her adornment and time, is the
highlight of her day. She is not requesting riches or gold. If she is
anything like my 3 year old Jordyn, an empty cardboard box will do. ,
It doesn't matter what we felt or how we left on Sunday, someone needs you.
It could be the person across the street, or maybe that person in the
nursing home. It might even be a co-worker, mail man or a NFB member who
sat beside you on the way home. Someone needs you and me ; for whatever
reason it may be! Take time to adopt a senior or child who is blind. Or,
anyone who may not have a friend, perhaps lost a loved one earlier this
year, or has lost their way. We are the National Federation of the Blind of
Ohio and we care, uplift people and stand as a collective front. Our
purpose and vision will not be shakened! We are family!
I am living the life I want. However, there are some who need to understand
this way of life. Who better to provide this insight than you. The
challenge to all Chapters is to adopt a child, senior or individual who is
blind to give them a little of what the NFB has given to you! Even if you
do not celebrate this season, then just provide a little kindness! I know
we all assist when we can. But, there is someone somewhere who need
somebody a little more during this time of year! I too will propose this
endeavor to my Chapter on Friday with the hope we will consider adopting for
the holidays. Call your local Family Services, Adopted Agencies, Hospitals
to inquire how you can give back!
Thank you Tanisha and Medical Mutual for an important reminder!
Suzanne
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the
characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the
expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles
between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want;
blindness is not what holds you back.

Hello,
I hope all of you are well rested and recovered from the convention last
weekend, and are now ready to get back to work doing the work of the
Federation.
I would like to hold a conference call for the Fundraising committee and any
other interested individuals on Monday November 28 at 7:00 pm. This should
be a short call to wrap-up the silent auction from convention, get a Mally's
update, and to talk about any upcoming projects.
And speaking of the silent auction, I want to add my thanks to Chrystal for
all the hard work she did on this to make it the success it was.
Also, a thank you to Melina for her work on the Malley's project. I am
looking forward to ordering my chocolates here soon, and to seeing her
updates of how so many of you are ordering these yummy treats to help the
Federation.
The call in information is:
1-712-775-7031.
And the access code is:
786-926-268.
I look forward to talking to many of you on the 28th.
Everyone have a great Thanksgiving.

While reflecting on the happenings at our convention this year, I recalled
something unusual that was very special to me and I hope to others.
Cleveland's Mayor Frank Jackson welcoming us personally rather than sending
one of his Staff to do so I feel was a real honor. I called the Mayor's
Office today and told them so, and the Staff person I spoke to told me that
Mayor Jackson only appears personally at events such as ours when he feels
especially honored to be asked to do so.
Yea Mayor Jackson!

Hello Cheryl, thank you so very much. And kudos to Mr. Mitchell for sharing his invitation with everyone in the Ohio affiliate. It is because of our convention, and comments like that I have received from individuals online and off white Mr. Wise from Cuyahoga County who truly enjoyed a conference in our presentations, that I decided that I would share my time my talent and my treasure upon request by Mr. Lee Martin President and Mrs. Florence Mcswain vice president of the circle city chapter of NFB Indianapolis Indiana. This is an open invitation to anyone who would like to attend, contact information is enclosed in the contents of the letter please contact Mr. Lee Martin or Mrs. Florence Matt Swain for further details thanks again for your support, I appreciate all the energy that this conference has bought Fourth. It is awesome the conference was an awesome experience hope everyone remembers to share their time talent and treasure piece Dr. Carolyn Peters

Yes, I must agree. Most of us Clevelanders were plesently surprised.
Great that you called. Now, I feel especially honored too.
Another person to thank is Oliver Draper at Regional Transit Authority!
I called him and plan to write letter. Maybe others will call too. He
provided the para transit service we needed for the weekend, Hooray!
Blessings
