Thank you for this. As you know, my event is tomorrow and I feel that I am
in this effort alone. I have people that is working with me on this event,
but none from the NFB. This morning I began asking, why am I doing this, but
your previous message answered the question in my mind. Whether I get help
from the organization or not, I believe that the work that I'm doing is for
the greater good and other events will more likely happen.

I hope that I get some support from my chapter, but if not, the National
Federation of the Blind will continue to be a major priority in my life.

How is my NFBO family doing these days?

It  has been somewhat quiet on the List in recent days and I just wanted to
say hello and to remind each of us how Blessed we are to live in such a
great country and how Blessed we are to have each other.

I am attaching my Version of America for your enjoyment an as a reminder of
all that is essential to us as Americans.

I think that it should be our National Anthem and I know many of you on this
List have heard it before so you don't have to listen to it again but thank
you for indulging me here but perhaps their are some on the List that have
not heard my Version of it yet?

I was just sitting in my office right now  thinking about how Blessed we are
in the Federation because of the sacrifice of so many before us and how they
made it possible for me to be in this office and position right now.

I remember the first time that I sat in the same room with Dr. Jernigan and
listened to him talk with great and genuine pride about what the NFB meant
to him and all that he had done and was doing to make life better for blind
people at that time and for  the future.

My heart and soul swelled with such joy and happiness that I thought that I
might burst at times!

I never want to forget that day and feeling and mor importantly, I want to
be use to help someone else feel that same way about our movement as well
how about you?

We are not perfect but we are so BLESSED and let's never forget it Amen?
Those of you that are struggling right now and I can feel you in my Spirit,
just know that you are not alone and that you have a family that really is
interested in your present and future success and that even though it might
be raining now in your life, the sun will come out again and we will be
their to dance the "happy joy dance of triumph" with you when you overcome
whatever your challenge is now but even more importantly, we are here for
you right now so just reach out and call us and we'll be their ok?
